Shigatse City; Nanmuling, Sajia, Bailan and Jiangzi Counties. Project

Project summary: Tibet is one of the five major pastoral areas in China.
Animal Husbandry plays a very important role in the regional economy. According
to the present economic and ecological reality of Tibet, and under the circumstance
of "Developing the western part of China", this project has been proved
for several times by departments and experts concerned. In the project, the adaptability
experiment of the lucerne mono-factor of 18 introduced species from the U.S.A.
has shown positive result in this region. It will take an immeasurable part to
the development of animal husbandry in Tibet. The preliminary job of the project
has reached to feasibility analysed stage. Scale of construction:
This project consists of 7 sub-projects:
1). Artificial grass planting: 400,000
mu of high quality artificial grassland will be bred.
2). Forage grass processing
plant: It will produce 226,730 tons of lucerne lump.
3). Milk cow breeding:
750 head of cows will be raised yearly, and 1,350 tons of milk is expected to
be produced.
4). Poverty-lifting milk cow: 7,200 head of cows will be distributed
to poor families to raise.
5). Dairy product processing factory: A dairy product
processing factory will be set up to process 9,990 tons of fresh milk.
6).
Meat cattle raising: 10,000 heads of cattle will be raised.
7). Meat product
processing factory: It will produce 444 tons of high quality yak meat, 5920 tons
of normal yak meat, and 450 tons of cooked yak meat products. Budgetary
estimate of investment: The total investment will be 74.98 million USD. Among
which 29.4million USD. will be cooperative investment. Preliminary preparation
of project: Feasibility report has been finished, and applied for approval. Anticipated
benefit: The annual sales income will be 88.43 million USD. The normal annual
profit and tax will be 15.3 million USD. The project will have very positive ecological
