Counties Project summary: Shigatse prefecture is linked with Lhasa,
Ali and Naqu in the east and north respectively, it is neighboured with Nepal
in the south-west. It has an average altitude of 3,800 metres, with a total area
of 180,000 square kilometres, and its population is 623,800. Shigatse is the major
agricultural region in Tibet, and its animal husbandry ranks second in Tibet.
Transportation is fairly convenient in Shigatse. The climate is temperate, population
is centralized and it has quick accesses to information with perfect technical
service network. It also has a huge market capacity with good sales channels.
There are enough feed as well as breeding bases, hence it is the ideal breeding
development base with considerable potentiality. Scale of construction:
It is planned to build a farm to raise annually 2,000-3,000 pigs, chickens and
ducks respectively. At the same time, various processing industries, service industries,
planting and diversified economy etc can be established. Budgetary estimate
of investment: The investment will be 602,400 USD. Preliminary preparation
of project: The feasibility research paper has been finished. Anticipated
benefit: The investment on pig raising can be recouped in one year's time,
but three years will be taken for the investment on chicken and duck production
