summary: Niyang River valley has an area of 24,800 square kilometres, and
is abundant in natural resources. There is 175,700 mu of cultivated land, 209,800
mu of useable wasteland, 24.75 million mu of forestry land, and 12 million mu
of useable grassland. In this river valley, there are 1,500 kinds of wild animals
and plants, together with 0.31 billion cubic metres of wood reserves and 18 million
KW of water power resources. Tourist resources and natural reserve spots are also
abundant. Developing and utilizing these resources rationally is not only an important
contribution to the development of three major rivers in Tibet (Yalong zanbu River,
Niyang River and Nianchu river), but also a promoting force to the economic development
of the locality and Tibet as well. Scale of construction: There will
be 111 construction items, including 10 agricultural items, 10 livestock farming
items, 12 forestry items, 32 water conservancy items and processing items etc.
Budgetary estimate of investment: The total investment will be 120.48
million USD. Preliminary preparation of project: Feasibility study
report completed. Anticipated benefit: It will create considerable
