Tibet Autonomous Region Project summary: Tibet is very rich in forestry
resources. There are 7.17 million hectares of forestry in Tibet, and the forestry
alive stores up to 2.084 billion cubic metres ranking first in China. There are
13 million hectares of available land for afforestation. the deserted area has
already reached 20.47 million hectares also ranking first in China. Forestry covers
only 9.86% in Tibet, far less than the average level in China. According to the
forestry plantation and sand-controlling requirement, 60-80 million nursery stock
of various kinds are to be needed yearly, which requirement can only be met by
having a nursery area of 30 to 40 thousand mu. Therefore, it is very necessary
to establish the scientific and technological spreading and exemplary base of
ecological forestry in Tibet. Scale of construction:Introduction
of fine varieties, breeding, spreading the fine saplings and a training centre
etc. Budgetary estimate of investment: The investment will be 1.8073
million USD. Preliminary preparation of project: The feasibility
report has been made. Anticipated benefit:The annual profit will
