| Education |
 The
undertaking of education has witnessed great development in
Tibet. There are 926 schools in Tibet, including 4 colleges,
16 secondary technical schools, 90 middle schools, 2 vocational
schools and 814 primary schools. Besides, there are other 3314
teaching points. They employ 19081 teachers and enroll 363536
students.
Since the Third Forum of the Central Government on Tibet was
held, Tibet has witnessed great development in education .Great
achievements have been made in basic education ,professional
education, adult education and higher education.
 The
schools have promoted their management, enhanced the professional
level of teachers and improved the teaching materials. Tibet
Education Commission has trained 2300 headmasters and lots of
teachers. Bilingual education (Tibetan and mandarin Chinese)
is adopted in the schools. All the schools have attached importance
to the all round development of students' ethics, intelligence
and physique. Geared to the needs of socialism and challenges
of the world and the future, the schools have strenuously implemented
the educational policies of the central government. To suit
the demands of the new era, the schools have accelerated the
educational structural reforms. With the considerable increase
of education fund, the conditions for running schools have been
greatly improved.
